‘Would You Rather?’ Challenge! [BOOKISH EDITION!]

Hola readers!

I was tagged by the wonderful Syrah over at RNSoul to do the Would You Rather challenge where I would answer a bunch of questions bound to drive me insane!! This was incredibly torturous fun to do given my indecisive and flaky nature 😂 so I hope you have fun reading my answers! Syrah had some amazing responses to her questions and you can check it out here. While you’re at it, show that baby blogger some love! ✨

Plot twist to all those I would be tagging… since I am a book blogger, this will be a bookish edition of the Would You Rather challenge! Be prepared to rip your hearts out trying to decide which you’d rather do 🙃🙃

• Answer the questions given to you by your nominator
• Make up your own questions and tag others!

Syrah’s Questions

Would you rather have only one book to read for the rest of your life, or only one movie to watch?
THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST QUESTION???? sigh I guess I’d have to stick with only one book gulp for the rest of my life seeing as I get really bored watching movies over and over again (YES I DO, EVEN IF IT’S HARRY POTTER).

Would you rather have picture perfect memory without a degree, or have a PhD already accomplished?
Ah, this one’s hard too!! On one hand, I’d reeeally like picture perfect memory (eidetic, is what it’s called????) seeing as I already have a pretty dreadful one right now, but on the other.. that means remembering every single thing, good or bad, and that’s really sad. But then.. what the hell would I do with a PhD? Those things don’t really matter to me so.. Picture perfect memory it is!

Would you rather get perfect knowledge from a blue rhino where people would call you crazy, or imperfect knowledge from a professor (but being socially accepted)? So I had to Google Blue Rhino because I had no idea what that was 😂 and now I know it’s a propane tank.. unless I found a different Blue Rhino lol. But this question is easy peasy! I would most definitely have perfect AND ACCURATE knowledge about propane tanks than mumbo jumbo from professors! People already think I’m crazy anyway 🤷‍♀️

Would you rather have the highest number of views on your blog but without connecting, or a few views where your content hits home for the audience?
This is a no-brainer for me — I’d definitely choose fewer views but with more engagement and more posts that connect with the audience! Although I set up my blog to be able to share my thoughts, I also continue writing because of the people who read it! ❤

Would you rather read or write for the rest of your life?

Would you rather dress in 20’s-40’s fashion or today’s fashion (minus the restrictions imposed by 20’s-40’s regarding clothes).
Oh, I’m a little torn on this one. I definitely like the 20’s to 40’s look, but I DON’T LIKE WEARING HEELS. Now, if someone can assure me I can wear sneakers (HA-HA) then I’d choose vintage fashion any day! Otherwise, I’m sticking to current trends. 😉

Would you rather participate in a murder mystery (like a dinner production) or write one?
I would absolutely LOVE to help solve the mystery, but I’ve never been good at thinking games. I’m more of a ‘shoot first ask questions later’ kind of person! And since I most definitely like making things happen.. it would be awesome to write the mystery instead!!

Would you rather be a famous writer for your blog or for books? If for books, what genre(s)?
Ah, tough one. For now I think I’d like to be famous for writing a book. Books are forever, you know? I mean, the internet is forever too, but I’d prefer to be immortalized by writing contemporary romance that a lot of people enjoyed.

Would you rather eat sweets or salty food?
SALTY. I don’t really like sweets.

Would you rather move to a foreign country to learn their language, or learn their language before visiting?
I’d rather move and then learn their language! I mentioned in my previous (like waaay previous) posts that I took French lessons for a while, and although I did okay and my instructor was a Frenchman, it would’ve been better if I had French people around me whom I  could converse and practice with. Besides, I’d like to believe I’d learn better if I had NO CHOICE but to speak the language 😂

My Questions
  1. Would you rather be stuck on an island without books, or stuck in a library full of books you can’t read?
  2. Would you rather read all the books EXCEPT those written by your favorite author, or read ONLY the books written by your favorite author and nothing else? Coincidentally, who’s your favorite author?!
  3. Would you rather read a book with a cliffhanger, or read a book with a heartbreaking ending?
  4. Would you rather throw your favorite book into the ocean, or have a friend never return it?
  5. Who would you rather save from Lord Voldemort, Hagrid or Neville?
  6. Would you rather write a book that never sells, or hire a ghostwriter who would guarantee you some bestsellers?
  7. Would you rather be with your (favorite!) book boyfriend, or your real-life crush?
  8. Would you rather read the first half of a book and never the ending, or the last half of the book but never the beginning?
  9. Would you rather spend the day with your favorite character, or spend the day with your favorite author?
  10. Would you rather lose the ability to read new books, or lose the ability to reread books?

  1. I love reading your answers to tag posts!
Would you rather read or write?? WHAT A HORRIBLE QUESTION! I wouldn’t have been able to answer that one either!
You don’t like sweets??! 😲 I wish I didn’t, my dentist would probably love me more 😂
I’m with you there on the vintage fashion WITHOUT heels! I can barely walk in flats let alone heels, that’s just a disaster waiting to happen haha!
Thank you so much for tagging me – I cannot wait to answer your questions!

    1. Aw, thanks Kelly! I’m looking forward to yours! 😍
And yeah those questions were like medieval torture.. Syrah is a menace 😂 i just don’t have a sweet tooth! Which is unfortunate bc my mother bakes all the time and all the cakes/cupcakes/brownies etc spoil in the fridge lol Vintage fashion is the beeeeest!!! I kinda like some victorian steampunk too 😍😂

  4. Your answers were so much fun to read! I would also rather have only one book to read for the rest of my life because my general view on movies is that they are kinda short-lived for me. I am no help in murder mysteries since you’ll most likely find me stuttering “What the FRICK?” at every clue or discovery! And I’ve also tried learning French but only using an app and I ended up only learning a few words (such as apple is pomme hahaha). What is it like having an actual Frenchman as a coach?

Oooh, the people you’ve tagged are in for a treat! Your questions are straight-up painful to answer hahahaha. But they’re so creative and I’m very much looking forward to reading everyone else’s answers! ❤

    1. Thanks!! It was pretty much torture, though lol Honestly I’d reeeeally love to try and solve the murder mystery but nope, I’d just leave everyone to death if I did. And oooh, are you talking about Duolingo? That’s pretty effective too! My instructor was veeery cool and his English was amazing! I honestly think I got lucky bc I probably wouldn’t have paid so much attention if my instructor was Filipino hahaha.
